Opendata.ch is looking for a committed, digital and data-savvy person with management experience to head its office with immediate effect or by arrangement! Who we are
Opendata.ch is committed to using data, software and knowledge for the common good. To this end, we…
- promote open, human-centered projects and infrastructure (Hackathons, Prototype Fund),
- strengthen collaboration in the data ecosystem (Working Groups, Forum, Hackathons),
- advocate for a conductive legal and political framework,
- promote data literacy (Data Café, Data Literacy, Data Steward Course) and
- advise and support the public administration in becoming more open, human-centered and innovative.
Opendata.ch is a non-profit organisation and was founded in 2012. We are part of the international Open Knowledge Network.
What you will do
Your work will focus on the independent operational management of the office and organisation of all our activities. In co-operation with the Board and the Advisory Board, you will develop the strategy, plan the implementation in the annual planning and evaluate the achievement of objectives; they will support you at all times if necessary.
Your tasks include:
- managing the office (2-3 employees, finances),
- supervising and supporting our projects,
- fundraising,
- representing the association in working groups, at conferences, etc.,
- communicating via various channels,
- networking and advocacy, including writing consultation responses, statements, etc.,
- working with our partners and
- organising cooperation with the Board and Advisory Board (organising Board meetings, etc.)..
What you bring to the table
Must
- Leadership experience and experience in project and/or event management.
- Confident demeanour and strong communication skills: You master the various digital communication channels with ease.
- Written and spoken German or French and English.
- You are hands on, work carefully and independently.
- You are enthusiastic and enjoy motivating others.
- You want to work for an open society and the common good.
Nice to have
- Your own network in the digital, non-profit and/or political sector.
- Experience and knowledge in the areas of (open) data, (open source) software, (open) innovation, human-centred design, advocacy/public affairs, administration, public sector consulting, community management and/or sustainability.
- Good active knowledge of a second national language is an advantage.
