Workshop on the strategy process

1. Report from the Board of Directors and Management
Welcome by Co-CEOs Verena Kontschieder and Anna Sigrist and President Andreas Kellerhals. The president looks back on an eventful year with many changes. Highlights of 2025: Round 4 of the Prototype Fund, the launch of OpenParlData, courses on OGD (HEC Lausanne, Data Stewardship Intensive Course), presence at relevant events, sustainable core funding from Mercator for 2026–2030, the relaunch of the GLAM working group and a new team led by Verena and Anna, who also initiated the new strategy process. Looking ahead to 2026: World Economic Forum / World Computer Day, India AI Impact Summit, the Prototype Fund proof of concept, GLAMhack and a project with the Federal Statistical Office. Item without a vote.

2. Approval of the 2025 financial statements
Mario Cacciatore and Andreas Kellerhals present the income statement and balance sheet. The report of the auditor Wobmann Treuhand AG is not yet available; since Opendata.ch is not obliged to have an audit, the accounts can be approved regardless – should the report identify deficiencies, a new approval follows by circular resolution. Motion of the board: approval. Approved unanimously.
-
3. Discharge of the board
Motion of the board: discharge for its activity up to the end of the 2025 financial year. Approved unanimously.
-
4. Approval of the annual budget 2026
Mario Cacciatore explains the 2026 budget. Most of the funding comes from Mercator (budget for the Prototype Fund and core funding); further pillars are GLAMhack, the project with the Federal Statistical Office, paid courses and speaking engagements. Only projects that will definitely take place are budgeted, salaries on the basis of the current team, membership revenue at the previous year’s level. Motion of the board: approval. Approved unanimously.
-
5. Confirmation of the membership fee 2026
Motion of the board: leave the membership fees unchanged. Approved unanimously. It is suggested to consider higher fees and a new membership model by the next General Assembly.
-
6. Personalia – election of board members
No re-elections. To complete the board, Sonja Gasser (representing the GLAM working group), Inji Kim, Julia Mia Stirnemann and Sabine Wildemann are newly elected unanimously. Thanks go to former CEO Florin Hasler and the outgoing board members Juan Pablo Lovato, particularly as Vice President, and Andrina Frey.
- –20:30
7. Any other business
No other business was raised. Verena Kontschieder, Anna Sigrist and Andreas Kellerhals close the meeting with thanks and best wishes.
