DARIAH-CH GLAM Working Group: Second preparatory workshop
- GLAM

3 December 2024, 16:00–17:30 @ Online
Organised by Opendata.ch, DARIAH-CH – Swiss Digital Research Infrastructure for Arts and Humanities
24 people took part in the online session – arts and humanities researchers, data management experts, GLAM professionals, university librarians, data stewards and digital scholarship specialists. In two breakout groups they discussed the pillars, the objectives and the mission of the working group.
The five pillars were accepted as formulated after the first workshop; the objectives received small revisions and the mission a reformulation. As concrete lines of action from 2025 the participants suggested: focus on training, collaborate with existing initiatives, raise funds in a structured and collaborative way, organise joint events and easy-to-achieve joint projects, create a common collaborative space, and invite GLAM institutions to join the DARIAH-CH consortium. The working group's kick-off took place on 11 June 2025 at the ETH Library.

After the first preparatory workshop of the DARIAH-CH GLAM Working Group, which was held in Lucerne on September 5, 2024, we are happy to announce the second preparatory workshop. As a reminder, the GLAM Working Group’s mission is to strengthen the cooperation between the Heritage Sector, the Cultural Sector, Public Administration, and the Digital Humanities in the area of data and data infrastructures.
The goal of this online session is to share the status of the work towards setting up the DARIAH-CH GLAM Working Group and get participants’ opinions and perspectives on what we have elaborated so far. This work is based on the insights that have been gathered during the first preparatory workshop. If you want to take a look at what has been discussed there, you can find the documentation here.
The session will be interactive and there will be ample room for discussion and exchange of opinions. No preparation or prior knowledge is required for participating in this session. The outputs of this session will be used as a basis for the official kick-off of the working group which is planned for early 2025.
Target participants:
- Arts and Humanities researchers from Swiss higher education institutions
- Arts and Humanities data management experts
- GLAM professionals
- Open Science and ORD officers
- representatives of Heritage sector, Cultural sector and Public administration interested in the topic of the WG
