The 5th edition of the Open Farming Hackdays is already part of our history—but the energy and ideas born during these two vibrant days at the Liebegg Agricultural Center are still very much alive!

Lead organizer Yannick Wagner explaining how ideas can be made to grow at the Farming Hackdays

With participants from a wide range of backgrounds—including agriculture, public sector, tech, design, and research—the event was once again a celebration of interdisciplinary collaboration. The atmosphere was buzzing with curiosity, creativity, and commitment to shaping the future of our food and farming systems.

One of the highlights was the presentation of the #zämesammle platform (Together Against Invasive Neophytes!), a project that originally took root during previous hackdays and has since grown thanks to the continued dedication of its team. It’s a strong testament to how ideas sparked at the Hackdays can evolve into real-world impact.

This year, one of the projects is planning to apply for support through the InnoBooster program—while several others are set to continue as research projects at universities and universities of applied sciences. It’s incredibly exciting to see these seeds of innovation starting to grow beyond the event itself.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all participants for your energy, your ideas, and the many inspiring conversations. We are confident that several of this year’s prototypes will continue to grow and reach full implementation.

Until next time—let’s keep driving innovation in food and agriculture, together. 🌱
